It's all in the name...
After the current New Mexico governor sharing my namesake was voted into office, I joked that if I were governor, my first order of business would be to make chips and salsa free at all New Mexican restaurants. To me, there is nothing worse than a sneaky charge of $2 on your bill for chips and salsa. Que no?
Next, Land of Enchantment (Orale!) (c) was developed as a comical homage to New Mexico and is a derivative work to the tune of God Bless the USA. The song/video highlights locales and inside jokes for the state that we know and love. The song/video is a parody, is for entertainment purposes only, and is not a reflection of the views of the New Mexico Governor's Office or the New Mexico Department of Tourism.
Now, it's time to show your pride in New Mexico -- which celebrates its centennial in 2012 -- with an item from the Proud To Be A New Mexican Where The Chips and Salsa Are Free store. Send a photo wearing your shirt to be featured on the website, and join the community of New Mexicans with Zia Love(TM).
Proud to be born and raised in New Mexico,
